Note: Mary Louise Wood: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Athens Daily Review (TX) - December 8, 2006 Deceased Name: Mary Louise Wood ATHENS -- Mary Louise Wood, 91, of Athens passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Athens. Louise was born Nov. 14, 1915, in Azle. She had been a resident of Athens for 10 years and was a former resident of Arlington for 48 years. Louise was a teacher for 35 years in Arlington Independent School District. She was "the best teacher I ever had" to hundreds of fourth grade students. Wood Elementary School in Arlington was named for Louise and Roy Wood. Louise was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Arlington. Survivors include her husband, Roy Wood; son, Joe Roy Wood and wife, Glynda, of Athens; daughter, Mary Ann Wood of Arlington; grandchildren, Matthew, David and Mark; and great-grandchildren, Grant, Walker, Zach and Nate. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in the First Baptist Church of Arlington. Private graveside services will be held in Moore Memorial Gardens.
