  Jesse was the son of Josiah and Elizabeth (Robinson) Jones. He married Elizabeth Bradley in 1861
  Jesse enlisted in the Civil War in 1861. He was in Company "C", 21st Texas Infantry Regiment with the rank of Lt.. He was discharged in April of 1865. After the war, he resumed his mercantile business until he retired in 1893. His children were: Robert W., Frank D., Ida and Ada. Elizabeth died in 1872 and Jesse married Sue R. Woods, daughter of Dr. M.L. Woods. Jesse died at the age of 80.
