Note: Family history had Claude moving to West Texas and farming land in Haskell County. He later purchased a large portion of land between Childress and Wichita Falls. The Depression put the squeeze on Claude and he was forced to lose the land in Haskell County or the larger one between Childress and Wichita Falls. He opted to keep the land in Haskell County. The property between Childress and Wichita Falls later produced about 16 oil wells. The property in Haskell that Claude kept, produced 4 oil wells.
