Note: According to Patterson descendants, Albert died at a youg age in a mining accident. Some Patterson descendants maintain that Albert was a son of William Shrewder. Could not have been. William Shrewder was in the stockade for several months during the time of conception of Albert. (see notes on William Shrewder) The alledged mine accident was reported by William Patterson stating he and his son Albert were checking out a mine, Albert being about 9 years of age, and Albert fell down a deep shaft. Knowing the facts about the death of William Shrewder and Thomas Franklin Shrewder comments to his children about the alledged accident, Thomas thought William may have pushed Albert down the shaft. Thomas felt that William considered Albert a blight on his and Celia's name and William considered Albert a bastard and an offense to God. The majority of this was told to me by a granddaughter of Thomas and verified by a second granddaughter.
