Note:   PARCHMAN JR., LIDDELL JACKSON: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Chicago Tribune (IL) - May 14, 2002 Deceased Name: PARCHMAN JR., LIDDELL JACKSON Liddell Jackson "Jack" Parchman Jr., 77, passed away in Fort Collins, CO on Monday, May 6, 2002 from respiratory failure. Jack was born in Fort Worth, TX on Nov. 10, 1924, the son of Liddell Jackson Parchman Sr. and Alice Dale Pearson Parchman. Mr. Parchman spent his childhood years in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago, IL. He attended Morgan Park Military Academy, where he was a cadet officer and captain of the football team. After graduation in 1944 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps reaching the rank of Sergeant. After World War II, he attended the University of Illinois where he studied agriculture and played on the football team. Mr. Parchman began his 40 year career in the cattle business as a cattle buyer for Swift & Company in 1948, at the Union Stockyards in Chicago. During that time, Mr. Parchman and his family moved to Sleepy Hollow, IL, where Mr. Parchman was active in the First Congregational Church of West Dundee, IL, and also served as a Sunday School teacher. After the closing of the Union Stockyards in the early 1970's, Mr. Parchman worked with various large meat packers and resided in Dumas, TX, Wichita, KS and Fort Collins, CO where he retired. Mr. Parchman is survived by his wife, Marguerite Anderson Parchman of Fort Collins, CO; two children, Leslie Parchman Olson of Boulder, CO and Todd Liddell Parchman of Baltimore, MD; as well as four grandchildren, Maxfield Olson, Liddell Jackson Parchman III, Andrew and Kallen Parchman. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 17, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Union Church of Hinsdale, Third and Garfield, Hinsdale, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the L.J. Parchman Jr. Memorial Fund, Culver Educational Foundation, Culver, IN, 46511
