St Albans Dugan family born here ST Albans was interesting to visit and I found a good restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The Dugan family was born here all six. The center area has a long green that is surrounded on the backside with 5 churches and a government building and a historic society. Going north to the end of the green and across the street you find the city hall with index cards of names of family members with details of births, death, and marriages then from there you can look up the original record if needed in books. Looking at the photos you get the feeling of old New England but when you move out of the center area you step into a mix of old and new homes and old and modern farms. The traffic was heavy in the foliage period and during rush hours. The bay area is great for they have a park all along one side in one direction and in the other direction you see homes along the shoreline and in back of them. They have a city library you can read census and history books of the towns in the area. The local RR is still in operations and sells tickets in the station for limited travelers and the freight trains are working in yards down the tracks. Driving through here was fun to take a moment in my life to share the views that my ancestors enjoyed in their time and to realize what influenced my grandfather to settle in Milford must have been the Long Island sound we live along and ST Albans bay that he swam in.
