Note: Franklin Conklin traveled with his parents in 1887 from Jackson Co. IA to farm nr Gayville, SD. 1888 moved to Frontier Co, NE nr the town Stockville which is now Holdredge. Franklin and his wife farmed nr. Stockville until 1920 when they removed to farm nr. New Raymer, CO. They retired in Evans, CO in 1934.

Obsequies were held from Franklin J Conklin, on Wednesday, 28 July 1954, At 10:00 A.M. from Adamson Mortuary, in charge of Rev. Charles M. Underhill, Soloist: Mrs, Willard Darling, Organist: Mrs. George Anderson, Songs: Beulah Land and We'll Never Say Goodby in Heaven, Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Pallbearers: Grandsons. Mr. Franklin J. Conklin, 85, of 504 Boulder Street, Evans, died at the Weld Co. General Hospital Monday morning 26 July 1954. Mr. Conklin was born in 07 Sept. 1868, in Iowa. He was married 15 Nov. 1892, at Stockville, Nebraska to Bessie L Underhill who survives. He and his wife moved to New Raymer in 1920 where he farmed until moving to the Evan community in 1934.Mr. Conklin's death is the first in his immediate family in 62 years. Surviving are eight children, James E. Conklin, Evans: Mrs. Mimi Meck and Lewis Conklin, both of Freewater, OR.,Millard M Conklin, Milson, OR., Mrs. Susie M Clark, Sterling; Robert F Conklin, Cheyenne; Ernest Conklin, Ft. Collins, Mrs. Ruby L Clark, Longmont; three brothers, Michael and Frederick Conklin, both of Garrison, ND., Reuben Conklin, Keystone, three sisters, Mrs. Eda McEwain, Mullen, ID., Mrs. Mary Colby, Berkeley, CA., Mrs. Mariah Miller, Garrison, ND., forty-two grandchildren, and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
