a. Note:   Louisa Cockrell, eldest dau of Peter and Hannah (Linnabary) Cockrell, b. 13 May 1821, Delaware Co. OH. Peter's parents, Edward and Elizabeth (Dawson) Cockrell brought their young family to Delaware Co. from VA. sometime after 1810. The earliest record found for Edward is in 1819. Hannah's parents came to Delaware Co. about the same time, however, their path led them through Luzerne Co. PA. It is believed they left Luzerne Co. about 1802, migrated southward through Belmont Co. OH and then westward to Delaware Co. OH. Jefferson Edwards and Louisa Cockrell were married in Delaware Co. OH, 4 Oct. 1838 Louisa died in Cheyenne, Jackson Twp. Osborne, KS. In the Correctionville, Iowa Cemetery there is a memorial tombstone with Jefferson and Louisa (Crockrell) Edwards names.
