Note: "Eugene Edwards, 1888-1978, age 78 yrs, b. 8 May 1888, nr Correctionville, and attended schools in this area. He farmed for many years later returning to Correctionville and had lived here since. He was a Veteran of WWI. Mr. Edwards never married. He passed away at his home, Friday, 2 Feb. after a short illness. Surviving him are 1 sister, Mrs. Flossie Pease, Creighton, NE., 1 brother, John Henry of Correctionville, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home, 4 Feb. at 2 p.m., Rev Maurice Cunn officiating. Burial was in the Correctionville Cem with military rites at gravesite. Casket bearers were nephews of Mr. Edwards. Mrs. Annabelle Camparigg at the organ played "In the Garden, Beyond the Sunset, and The Old Rugged Cross." Leslie Peterson arranged the cars. Eugene saw service in WWI and was a member of the American Post Mumfad Post #49
