I'm attempting to locate the burial site of Ethel Hanson Alfredson (died 1919) and her son Harold Alfredson (died in 1917). My step father Donald Alfredson was another son of Ethel's and he wanted to buried with her and his brother. I would appreciate any help you could give me in locating the proper cemetery. Thank you, Georgia Huffman Earleneann@@aol.com

I then asked if Donald's ashes could be buried there too? The reply was that the grave sites were repossessed (probably because the Perpetual Care was not paid). Th assistant deputy Clerk then said that there may NOT be any Headstones because many were flattened on the ground or removed ! This shocked me as I never dreamed they would go that far ! I also asked for a map of the cemetery so I could go and see for myself, sure enough there seems to be either NO gravestone - OR - I found only 2 flat stones in the ground near where I estimate they should be. Neither flat stone had a readable inscription so I do not know if these are the correct graves. So, after a thorough search of the surrounding area, I am sure that NO marker exists for your folks ! I also asked what it would cost if yoy decided to bury Donald's ashes there, I was told that a grave-opening fee of $375.00 would be needed. So you be the judge - do you want to bury Donald in Marinette ? Or maybe a change of plans, seeing as how they do Not know if the space has been used and NO marker is there. You may call the Marinette City Clerk's Office and talk to them yourself and see what arrangements you want to make. It would be nice if you could be able to place a new gravestone there for all three. The assistant clerk looked for a burial record card, but she could not find any card or other record. The records for that period are not well preserved as so many sextons and cemetery superintendents have come and gone over the years and not all Records were saved ! The clerks office Ph # is 715 732 5140 if you wish to talk to them yourself. We do have 14 Alfredsons buried in Menominee Riverside Cemetery, I have the complete list of them in my possession. I would appreciate a donation for my time visiting both cemeteries to get your information for you, Thanks - Glenn Tribbey - 4421-10th ST - Menominee, MI 49858-1315. ----- Original Message -----
