Earl had a son who was born Abt. 1867. So far, I haven't been able to find any information about Robert and William Earl, Alvin's brothers, after the 1860 Census. Peter T. Earl's Confederate uniformwas stored in Alvin Earl's attic. My Dad, remembers seeing it. ----------------------------------- According to the 1870 Hawkins County, Tennessee Census, Alvin C. Earl was 13 years old in 1870. Alvin C. Earl's nickname was "Pomp." Alvin was shot in the face by a man with a shotgun while he was going home one night in his wagon. His eye was injured. In the 1900 Census, Alvin C. and Eliza A. (Freeman) Earl were living next to George Billingsley who was 80 years old. George was married to Luly (Louisa) who was 35 years old. She was born in October of 1864. They had been married for nine years at that time. George Billingsley was the Father of Sarah E. Billingsley and Maggie Billingsley. He was the brother to Mary Jane Billingsley who was the Mother of Sarah J. Ely. Maggie Billingsley was living with Alvin and Eliza (Lizzie) Earl in the 1910 Census. In Knox County, Alvin lived around Bean Station, Whilesburg, Bull Gap, Greenville (in that area). He lived close to the Trail of the Lonesome Pine. There's a water wheel there where Dad and his sister, Myrtle, had a picture taken there. ----------------------------------------------- The TVA bought Alvin's land to be flooded as part of the Norris Dam project in the 1930's. I have a copy of the TVA forms filled out by Alvin Carver Earl, George W. Earl, John W. Earl and Howard Earl.
