 In the 1920 Census, Howard's occupation is Miner. He worked at the Reliance Mine in Tennessee. He lived in Claiborne County, Tennessee at the time. He had to walk into Bell County, Kentucky and then back track to Tennessee to get to the mine because that was the way the road was laid out. He also worked in an ice plant. He also walked to work there.

 Howard's second wife was Lottie Mae Stanifer, daughter of Charlie Stanifer and Isabelle Robertson.
  Howard was 78 years old when he died. He died of respiratory insufficiency, cancer of the lung. Burial was March 15, 1974 at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Kosciusko County, Indiana. McHatten-Sadler Funeral Home, Warsaw, Kosciusko County, Indiana was in charge. Elbert W. Earl, Howard and Lottie's son, is also buried in that family plot. Lottie is buried there. Howard B. Lambert, their grandson, is buried there. Howard B. Lambert lived from 1958 - 1961.

 Howard's land was bought by the federal government to be flooded for the Norris Dam project. Many of our relatives had to move because of this project.

  In this day and age, the money listed above would be a very small amount. The times were so different then. During the Depression, this money would be considered a good income.
