The 1900 Bell County, Kentucky Census says he was born in August of 1867. Fred L. It only lasted a short time because she was involved with someone else. Andy divorced her. George didn't know her name. I asked Dad about this. He said that his Mother, Pearl Manning, told him the same thing. Andy was briefly married to a woman before his marriage to Almira Mason. She had a son who later became a lawyer. Pearl also didn't know who the woman was. Fred L. Manning said that his Dad, Andy Manning, paid for that son's education. Fred didn't know the name of the son. ---------------------------------- Andy moved from Bell County, Kentucky to Claiborne County, Tennessee around 1908 - 1910. Andrew had some disagreement with family members about some property in Bell County, Kentucky. These family members thought they had a right to the property Andy and his family were living on. Andy's daughter, Pearl, told her son, Ray Earle, that Andy got mad and very upset about the situation. One day, he just packed up his family and his property in wagons and moved to Claiborne County, Tennessee. He just let the other people have the property. Pearl remembered the move even though she was a little girl. The house Andy and Linda bought in Claiborne County, Tennessee had belonged to a family whose last name was Evans. Andy still had some other land in Bell County. He raised cattle and pigs on the land. He let the cattle and pigs run loose on the land. On a regular basis, he would round up the cattle and pigs and sell them. Pearl told Dad about the cattle. George Earl mentioned the pigs. Andy also owned some rental properties and stores that he rented out in Middlesboro, Bell County, Kentucky. His name was changed from Manon to Manning after he moved to Claiborne County, Tennessee. ------------------------------ In the 1930 Claiborne County Census, Andy is listed to have been born in Kentucky. He might have been born around the Big or Little Clear Creek area near Pineville, Kentucky. He had died before the 1930 Census, but his children have him listed as being born in Kentucky.
