Note: sh: "Mr.John Lohr died on his farm near London, Madison County, Ohio, after a short illness of Jaundice, Dec 31, 1898 ; aged 82 years and 9 months. His parents were Michael and Mary Catherine Lohr, who formerly resided in Shenandoah County, Va. To them were born four children: Mrs. Margaret Lohr Chapel, living at Toledo, Ohio, in the 87th year of her age; George W., who died in London in 1897, aged 84; the subject of this notice, aged 83, and Mrs. May (Mary) Lohr Carr, who died in 1893, aged 75. Michael Lohr died at the age of 32, and his widow married Samuel Messemore, of Virginia, who with his wife and her children moved to London in the fall of 1820. their daughter, Mrs. Catharine Lohr Gossard, resides near Champaign, Ill; James and Isabel are both dead. Mrs. M.(Messemore) died in London, Dec. 29, 1864 at the home of her son Geo. W. Lohr. John Lohr followed the saddler trade for some years. Dec 12, 1844, he married Miss Ann Noteman, and moved to their farm. To them were born five daughters (all married) and three sons- all living, as well as their mother. Mr. Lohr was a very prominent citizen, highly sociable, and an exemplary Christian- a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church. Mr. John Lohr, above mentioned, was a first cousin and Mr. Philip Lohr , a brother of Mr. Geo W. Lohr, residing several miles west of New market, and both have many relatives and connections in this vicinity."
