Note: The Journal-Standard, Monday, June 24, 1996 pg. 4 LUCILLE N. MEYERS Freeport--Lucille N. Meyers, 90, of 2203 Countryside Lane died Saturday, June 22, 1996, at Freeport Memorial Hospital. Daughter of William E. and Etta (Anderson) Ward, she was born Aug. 20, 1905, at Forreston. She and Earl E. Meyers were married July 25, 1945, in Freeport. He died March 9, 1994. She was a sales clerk at F.A. Read Department Store for 20 years, retiring in 1967, and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. Surviving family members include one son, Donald (Jan Peters) Pierce of Freeport; four grandsons, Steven (Adrienne) and Mark Allan Mooney, both of Freeport, William Mooney of Pekin, and Kelly J. Pierce of Chicago; one granddaughter, Jeri Lynn (Douglas) Broge of Cedarville; and five great-grandchildren, Timothy, Jerome, and Lisa Broge, and Luann and Aaron Mooney. Also preceding her in death was a son, William W. Mooney; and two brothers, Lawrence and Edward Ward. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Richard E. Barbour of St. John United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund has been established for the church.
