Note: DANIEL BROWN Daniel J. Brown, 85, of Tinley Park, formerly of Freeport, died Thursday, April 16, at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island after a short illness. For may years he was employed by C.H. Little Co., Freeport, and then Trien's Jewelry Store in Dixon until retiring at the age of 78. A former member of St. Mary Catholic Church, he was a member of St. George's Catholic Church in Tinley Park. While in Freeport he was an active member of the Winneshiek Players. On Dec. 21, 1902, he was born in Freeport, the son of Edward and Mary (Mooney) Brown. Surviving are a brother, Hugh Brown of Rockford; a sister, Frances Ray of Portland, Ore.; and a niece with whom he resided, Kay Bollon of Tinley Park. Two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. John Kraemer will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
