Note: HIS SUFFERINGS O'ERPatrick O'Mara, Who Has Been Sick For A Year, Called To His Eternal Rest Wednesday Evening A Good Man Patrick O'Mara, one of Freeport's old and respected citizens, died last night at 8 o'clock, at his home, No. 24 Jackson Street. Mr. O'Mara had been sick for about a year, with stomach and liver trouble, and although he had the best of medical care, it was impossible for him to get well, and he passed away, surrounded by his grief-stricken wife and sorrowing children. Mr. O'Mara was born in Tipperary, Ireland, 59 years ago. Thirty-three years ago he emigrated to America, and settled in Philadelphia. He came west 26 years ago and settled in Freeport. For 23 years he has worked in the Chicago & Northwestern shops in this city. He was always a hard working man, quiet and industrious. He did not have an enemy in the world and was highly regarded by all who knew him, and his death is deeply deplored. He was a man who always provided well for his family, and that bright and happy home is now filled with grief and sorrow, for the kind and loving husband, and indulgent father lies cold in death. The deceased was a devout Catholic, and much of his time was devoted to his church. He leaves to mourn his loss, a widow and six children. The latter are; Dennis, who is section foreman for the C>M> & N. at Rockford; John, who clerks for the Scott Hardware Co.; Mrs. Carey, of Turner Junction, Kate, Ida, and Vina, who live at home. The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon from the Irish Catholic Church. Rev. Father Wolby will officiate.
