 "John DAVIS, Sr., father of John DAVIS, Jr. who married Rachel WEST 1788Mad. Co., KY in 1785 left a special Legacy to William DAVIS, a minor in1816, son of John Jr. Paid John D. AUSTIN, trustee for same. Allowancesmade for board and washing in 1818-1819. This William was probably thefather of Willard DAVIS, an atty about 1850. Eleanor DAVIS who mdClaiborn TEATER also had a special legacy from John DAVIS Sr."
