The New Holland Lutheran Church was first known as the Earltown congregation which wasn't formed until 1733. See last paragraph on page 10, column 1 of Neff News, Sept 2002. The bp. was most likely preformed at the Neff home by Stover Sr and later recorded in the church register. Sometimes Stover even recorded bp's and marriages in two different church registers after the congregations were formed. Most colonial marriages took place at the bride's home and Stover recorded them in the records of the congregation to which the family belonged. You can almost track Stover's travels by the dates and places given in his journal.
