Note: Baptized on 06/05/1757 (Rev. John Stoever). Military: Michael Neff was a Revolutionary Soldier. Private, 6th class, in Capt. Phillip Duck's 1st Co. 3rd Battalion of the Lancaster Co Militia. In the spring of 1780 he was a resident of Elizabeth Twp., Lancaster Co., PA when he enrolled as a private, 6th class, in Capt. Philip Duck's 1st Co., 3rd Batt. of the Lancaster Co. Militia. He bought land in Wythe Co., VA in 1782, and wrote his will on January 1, 1825. Buried in a cemetery near the Greek Neff home just east of Fairiew Church south of Rural Retreat, VA. Stone gives date of death as January 15, 1824, age 69-8-7. However, that would mean that he wrote his will after he died! Someone made an incorrect calculation.
