  p117: "We first find this ancestor in the will of James Collins, hisfather-in-law. The will dated April 6, 1781 refers to land given hisfive sons "excepting forty acres more or less to be laid out of the tractof land I now own, beginning at Jack SMITH's corner and thence alongEdward BROADUS' line till it crosses a branch about one hundred yards toa broken top pine for William BROADUS which he has made a purchase ofme." Among the children James COLLINS mentions in his will is MilleyBROADUS. Richard BROADDUS, father of William, was a witness to this will.
  "When Richard BROADDUS made his will in Culpepper Co., Virginia onMarch 14, 1789, his son William BROADDUS was one of four children named,and William and his mother were named as executors. When this will wasprobated in Madison Co., Virginia on February 27, 1794, "William BROADUS,one of the executors therein named refuses to take upon himself theBurthen of the Execution of the said will and the other executor thereinnamed being deceased, on the motion of Edward BROADUS administration ofthe estate is granted...etc." See Will Book 1, Page 32.
  "William BROADUS and his family moved to Kentucky in 1796/7, firstappearing on the Tax List on September 14, 1797 in Madison County,Kentucky, and last appearing on the Tax List on May 10, 1799. He was"appointed Surveyor of the road from Irvine Lick to the Town of Milford"as recorded in Order Book B, Page 567, in March Court 1799.
  DEATH: "On the motion of Milly BROADIS who made oath as the lawdirects, a certificate is granted her for obtaining letters ofadministration on the estate of William BROADIS, deceased," etc., asrecorded in Order Book B, page 610, dated November 5, 1799. This andnumerous other records clearly establish the death of William BROADUS in1799.
  "Milly BROADUS purchased 100 acres on Paint Lick Creek adjoiningCOY, FORD, etc., for f120, reported in DB-F, Page 272, dated November 3,1806.
  "In Madison County, Virginia, Deed Book 12, Page 271, recorded onApril 17, 1833, is a record to further establish our William BROADUS withancestors in that part of Virginia. This is a record of Mildred BROADUSof the State of Kentucky, of one part, and William SIMMS of the County ofMadison and State of Virginia of the other part......a lot of land of 10acres in Madison County, Virginia, adjoining lands of Wm. SIMMS, MargaretDEVER, Tandy COLLINS, etc., at $6.00 per acre.....the above lot is thesame which she obtained as her part of her brother John COLLINS' share ofhis father's tract on which his father lived and died which division wasmade by Commissioners, etc. Attest: Paskel BROADUS, John BROADUS.Sworn to by George ALCORN, and James ESTILL, Justices of Peace, MadisonCounty,
 Kentucky.
