Note: William left the home of his uncle in KY to go to MO. At age five, he was orphaned and, along with his brothers and one sister, separated to live with relatives of their mother. His seven children are listed in the will of his grandfather, Wm Brooks. He is listed twice in the 1860 census: 1) with his sister and her new husband, John R. and Thursa (Brooks) Logan and his eldest brother John T. Brooks. 2) The next month, when the census taker is working in another part of Garrard Co, KY, William H. is listed with his sister, Thursa Logan in the home of their Mother's brother, George C. Occupation in 1870: laborer [Source: 1870 census] Occupation in 1915: Station agent in Holt, MO In 1915, he travelled to Texas with his wife and daughter to visit his brother Jim on a train, then a farm spring wagon pulled by one mule about ten miles.
