Note: y Co. Marland in 1815. At the age of 10 years he was moved with hi parents to Somerset Co. PA where he remained and labored with his father until he was 24 years old. He then married Lucinda Wass, dau of George and Elizabeth Wass, who was born in Somerset Co., PA in the 1822. Immediately after their marriage they moved on Mr. Ayers' father's farm, where they remained four years and then moved to the State of Illinois, and stopped in Woodford Co., remaining there one year. In 1844 he again moved to Tazewell Co and by 1850 he had 40,000 acres worth $1,625 in Tazewell Co. Illinois, according to the 1850 Federal Census Records, in section 26, Morton tnshp, where he has remained engaged in farming and raising stock ever since. The father of this Benjamin was born in New Jersey in 1779, this being Benjamin II. In 1809 he was a wheelwright in Boston in the carriage trade. His father was also another Benjamin, (Benjamin I) born in 1737 and at an early age, he enlisted in the Revolutionary War, returning to his home and family. where he lived till age 88. This Benjamin commenced in life a poor man, but through a course of industry and economy has since risen to wealth. He has always been considered an honest man, and has been noted for his charity. At an early age he gave his heart to his God and his hand to the Methodist Church, and has lived a consisten Christian ever since.
