Note: Found her and siblings listed on the 1930 census form as living at 83 Bloomfield St. Dorchester, Mass. Her age is listed as 6 yrs. Her brother William J. is 10, sister Rita is 12 and half-sister Mary Sullivan is 20. Agnes Elizabeth Dunn McLaughlin is 42 and William is 41. His occupation is train dispatcher and they rent their home for $45 a month. Born at home at 83 Bloomfield St., Dorchester, Mass. at 2:05 AM on Wed morning Nov 28, 1923. Dr. Morton was the attending physician. Died at 12:30 PM on Feb 24, 2000 at the Elihu White Nursing home in Braintree, Mass. Next of kin present at time of death were Mary Shields (sister), William Lawton (son), Jan Lawton (daughter in law), Jill, Jen, Beth Lawton (granddaughters) and Doreen Lawton Lawrence (daughter). Doris' body was donated to the Harvard Medical School. A proburial service was held on March 4, 2000 at 9 AM at the St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Milton. Readings were done by Jill and Jan Lawton, gifts were presented by William Lawton and Doreen Lawrence and the eulogy was read by Gerard Lawton. Doris' ashes were spread on Onset Beach on October 6, 2002. Bill, Jan, Doreen, Ray, and Gerry were present. It was a clear, cool breezy morning. She requested that Patty Page's song "On Old Cape Cod" be played, and it was. During WWII Doris worked at the Hingham shipyard as a welder and that's where she met her future husband, John Lawton.
