a. Note:   Name also spelled Keaney or Kanny. According to her marriage certificate the witnesses were M. Henry Garrity and Miss Maggie Keaney. They were married at St. Joseph's church in Medway on 26 October 1885. When her sister, Bridget Keany, died in 1906, Frank and she took in her niece, Alice Gorham (according to the 1910 census). Catherine became a US citizen in 1881 according to the 1900 census. Also living with them was William Kanny, Catherine's brother, who was born in Ireland and became a US citizen in 1884. He was employed as a boot tanner.
