Notes
a. Note:   Rita died of complications from lung cancer according to my brother Bill. Bill's daughter Jill was the nurse attending Rita at the hospital. Bill visited the day before she died because Jill said she wouldn't last much longer. According to Bill, Aunt Rita was "out of it" when he visited. She died the next day about 1 PM.
She wished to be cremated and have her ashes spread in the ocean. A memorial service will be held. Several of the McLaughlin girls took care of Rita when she got sick in San Diego and had to return to Quincy.
Rita is listed in the Jan 1920 Census as the daughter of William J and Elisabeth McLaughlin. They lived on Sammet St, Malden, Mass. Her half-sister Mary is also listed. Rita was a well educated school teacher who did lots of research according to Cousin Danny McLaughlin. Rita married late in life (60) so she had no children. She lived most of her life in Boston. When she married she and her husband moved to San Diego. She moved back to Quincy, MA in 2002 when she became too ill to care for herself.
