a. Note:   She was the only daughter in this family who was given a middle name. She attended Green Street School, Portsmouth, VA, for her early schooling, and was attending Graham Academy, a finishing school in Marshallberg, Carteret Co., NC, when she met her future husband. The information on her 1933 driver's license stated that she was living at 609 Bridges St., Morehead City (NC), was 5'3" tall, 116 pounds, and had brown eyes & brown hair. She moved to Portsmouth, VA, with her husband c. 1939. She died at NC Baptist Hospital, 4:40 A.M. Her funeral was at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, VA, by Rev. R.A. CRAIG, retired pastor of Central Methodist Church.
