a. Note:   e Army and was granted 640 acres of land in Tenn. for his service. He sold this in 1787 and was granted 200 acres in Screven Co., GA in 1797 and settled in Bullock Co., GA. "John Hudler, Revolutionary Soldier, of Bullock Co." was awarded 2 land lots in the 1827 GA Land Lottery. He is believed to have died there in the late 1830's.
 Nelly Mallard Hudler remarried on 7 May 1793 to Asa Messer and later removed to Kentucky where she applied for a pension on John's service in 1850. She claimed that John died about 1801 and she remarried only after he had died. The records prove different. It is evident that they had been separated for a long time and she did not know what had become of him and was hopefully trying to receive a pension. Her affidavits makes some very interesting reading.
