a. Note:   Elias Jacob Knapp was called "Jay". Elias had moved to Ohio with his family in 1832 and is shown in the 1840 census of Westfield Twp., Delaware Co., Ohio. He moved his family to Florence Twp., Williams Co., Ohio sometime before the 1850 census and remained there until after the 1860 census. They had moved elsewhere by the time of the 1870 census as they are not listed in Florence Twp., but they returned to Williams County by the time of the 1880 census and are in the census for Northwest Twp. He is buried with his wife in the Liggett Cemetery in Florence Twp., Williams County, Ohio.
