Note: According to his grandson, Claude Ellsworth Knapp, Ira Willard played the fiddle. He remembers going over to his Grampa's house in Owosso and sitting on the couch and listening to him play "Yankee Doodle" on his fiddle. The fiddle is being passed down to Claude's great-granddaughter. Second wife was Mary Luce b. 1863 d. 1938 She is mentioned in his will. Last Will and Testament of Ira Willard Knapp I, I. Willard Knapp, of the city of Owosso, in the county of Shiawassee and the state of Michigan, being of sound mind and memory, do make, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament, in the manner following, viz. : First, I will and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid in full. Second, I give, devise, and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary C. Knapp, so long as she shall remain single, the use and benefit and income of all my property both real and personal, and should there be a surplus of income above what is necessary for her comfortable living each year, the surplus shall be divided equally between our four children, Elmer J. Knapp, Harmie O. Knapp, Claud E. Knapp, and Mabel Nowlin, but my said wife may spend the entire income for her support if necessary. Third, at the death of my said wife, or at the time of her marriage, should she remarry, all my property both real and personal I give, devise, and bequeath equally between our for children, Elmer J. Knapp, Harmie O. Knapp, Claud E. Knapp, and Mabel Nowlin, and should any of said children be indebted to my estate at the time of the division of said property, such indebtedness shall be deducted from the share of said child. I hereby appoint my wife, Mary C. Knapp of the city of Owosso executrix of this my last will and testimony. Lastly, I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time made. In witness whereof, I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty-second day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen. I.
