Like many others in the family "Hugh" attended Guelph Collegiate Institute. He entered commercial work and went to Toronto where he worked as a salesman of leathergoods. He enjoyed gardening and spent many hours in hos dress pants, shirt and tie, out in his gardens in Islington. He also enjoyed reading. He and Annie lived at 139 Perry Cr. Islington, Ontario for many years.
"Hugh" is buried in the Crown cemetery in Puslinch out side of Aberfoyle, Ontario
