a. Note:   In 1819, George Hartline Jr. sold his land in North Carolina and moved to Union County, Illinois , with all of his children except his son George Hartline III who had earlier moved to Georgi a, and his son John Hartline who had already moved to Illinois. All of his children except Ge orge Hartline III were married in Union County, Illinois. In 1820, he bought the land claim of Israel Thompson for $1000.00. He lived on this land, i n Union County, Illinois, until his death in 1825. George's wife Mary Ann Earnhardt Hartlin e continued to live on this farm until her death on in 1849. George Jr. and Mary Ann are bot h buried in the Casper Cemetery near Anna, Union County, Illinois. In 1973, their grave marke rs were still standing and were still legible. In his will, George Jr. left half of his farm to his wife Mary Ann for use during her lifeti me. The other half was left to his son Isaac with the stipulation that he was to provide a li ving for his sister Elizabeth, a physical cripple, as long as she lived. After his mother's d eath, Isaac received her half of the farm.
