Note: Mr. Christian A. Jung, Sr., died at his home in this city, at 5:20 o'clock p. m. on Monday , December 28, 1914, after a lingering illness, aged 74 years and 25 days. Deceased was born in Saarburg, Lothringen, Germany, in the 3d day of December, 1840, and cam e to this country with his parents in 1853, and they immediately located at Belleville, and h e has been a resident of this county ever since. On the first day of June, 1861, he was marri ed to Mrs. Emma Dumont Reinhardt, who survives him. The resided on farms near Mascoutah unti l three years ago when they moved to this city. He was the father of 12 children, of whom two sons and one daughter preceded their father t o the grave and the following survive him: Christ A., Peter C. and Julius, residing in Mascou tah; Otto Jung, at Los Angeles, California; Arthur Jung, at Murphysboro, Illinois; Louis Jung , at Belleville; Mary, wife of Charles Ohl, and Theresa, wife of Ben Laux, of this city, an d Hilda, wife of Eugene Kaelin, of Gillespie, Illinois. Besides his wife and children, the de ceased is survived by one step-son, Fred Reinhardt, of this city, one brother, Anton Jung o f Murphysboro, Illinois, and two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Zinck, of Mascoutah, and Magdelena, wi fe of Felix Zinck. Of New Baden, Illinois; also 27 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon. Services will be held at the house by Rev . Wm. H. Schlinkmann, pastor of the Evangelical Protestant Church, at 1 o'clock, and internment will be ma de in the Mascoutah City Cemetery.-Mascoutah (Illinois) Herald, Dec. 30, 1914
