Note: J. J. (Jeff) East, a former resident of Cape Girardeau, died at 1 Friday afternoon in a Lak e Worth, Florida, hospital. In 1946 he built and operated the West Mount Motel in Cape Girardeau before moving to Lantan a, Florida, in 1957. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and Parish here. Surviving: his wife; sons, Charles, St. Louis, J. J. Jr., and Bill, both of Cape Girardeau ; daughter Mrs. Stan Dougan , Cumberland, Md.: Sister, Mrs. Dora Heckman, Ziegler, Illinois; 18 g randchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is at Ford and Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 Sunday afternoon wh ere a prayer service will be held at 7:30 that night.
