a. Note:   Mrs. Aurelia A. East, wife of J. J. East, 540 South Sprigg street, died at 8:55 a. m. Sunda y (March 16) at St. Francis Hospital following an illness of three weeks. Death was caused b y a streptococcus infection in the bloodstream, but her general condition had been weakened b y an attack of pneumonia. Mrs. East, gravely ill for the past two weeks, was given a half-doz en blood transfusions in an effort to save her life. The body was removed to the Walther Funeral Home and funeral services will be conducted a t 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church by the pastor, Rev. H. F. Schuerman n. Burial will be that afternoon at a cemetery at Mascoutah, Illinois Members of St. Mary's Churc h will assemble at the funeral home at 7:30 tonight for recitation of the Rosary. Mrs. East was born Nov. 22, 1902, at Murphysboro, Illinois The family had resided in various pla ces in Illinois, including Cairo and Mascoutah, before coming here two years ago, Mr. East be ing the district representative of the Shell Oil Co. Mrs. East was a member of St. Mary's Chu rch. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Charles Lynn, 16, J. J. Jr., 13, and Billy, 8 ; a daughter, Betty June, 4; her mother, Mrs. Agnes Rist of Mascoutah, Illinois; two brothers, Me dor Young of St. Louis and Julius Young of Mascoutah; a half-brother, John Rist, and two half -sisters, Misses Viola and Mary Ann Rist, all of Mascoutah. Her mother had been here part o f the time. Mr. and Mrs. Medor Young, also Mr. East's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. East of Murphysboro, a nd his sister, Mrs. Adora Heckman of Hurst, Illinois, have been here with the family the past wee k.--The Southeast Missourian, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Mar. 17, 1941
