Note: Dora Pearl Ladd was born May 20, 1900, in Dongola, Missouri, the daughter of Joel Madison Crite s and Christina Adaline Killian Crites. She died Nov. 17, 1998, at the age of 98 years, fiv e months, and 28 days. Dora grew up in the rural southern Bollinger County community of Schla tiz. She attended Will Mayfield College and taught in various county schools before her marri age. She was married on May 14, 1920, to William Lacy Ladd in Lutesville, Missouri They made thei r home near Greenbriar, Missouri William preceded her in death on April 7, 1950. To their union were born five children: Rosalie Gaither, Kirkwood, Missouri; Dorothy East, Cape G irardeau, Missouri; William Alan Ladd, Galva, Kan.; Carole Mosette Stanley, St. Louis, Missouri; and Ja ne Rockwell, Imperial, Missouri She devoted nearly 45 years to the Order of the Eastern Star, holding several offices, inclu ding serving as Worthy Matron of the Marble Hill, Missouri, chapter in 1965 and 1979. She was acti ve in civic endeavors, serving as a poll judge for may years. Dora was also a member of Ladd' s Chapel Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 5900 in Marble Hill. Besides her children, she is survived by 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and fiv e great great grandchildren. Nine brothers and sisters, two grandsons, and two great grandson s preceded her death. Burial was Nov. 21, 1998 in Baker Cemetery, Marble Hill. Pall bearers were grandsons Bill Ea st, Parma Ohio; John East, Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Roger East, Paducah, Kentucky; Richard East, Cap e Girardeau, Missouri; David East, Jackson, Tenn.; Stephen East, St. Charles, Missouri; Timothy Stanley , St. Louis, Missouri, and Tony Stanley, Port Orchard, Wash.
