Note: ter the 4th grade and worked on a large farm in Latham. He moved to the farm and lived in a ranch house at a young age until about 26 yrs of age. The great depression forced him to move to Columbus, Ohio where he met his wife Leila. They drove to Ashland, Kentucky (Leila age 18, Henry age 28) to get married. They said by the time the reached Kentucky the fog was so bad they drove with the door open to see the roads.
His first car was an Essex and he said it was the best car he ever owned.
During his teen years made liquor in the hills with his father during prohibition. The still was found by the revenuers and spent time in the Chillicothe jail but after three days was released by mistake. That was the last time he made wiskey. Always told his kids the recipe and would laugh about his wild days.
