  MOSES, DORIS MARGARET - Doris Margaret Moses, 83, of North Head, Grand Manan, N.B., passed away unexpectantly at the Grand Manan Hospital, Wednesday morning, November 12th, 1997. Mrs. Moses was the daughter of the late Mr. Lowell and Jessie (Beal) Brown of North Head, N.B. Mrs. Moses faithfully attended the North Head Wesleyan Church, and was especially interested and active in both the Seniors Adult Sunday School Class and the Wesleyan Ladies Auxillary Missionary Group as well as the Senior Ladies Fun and Games Group. Over the past ten years Mrs. Moses has enjoyed her trailering friends andaquaintances at Island View Campground, Bayside, N.B.
  Mrs. Moses is survived by herhusband Mr. Winthrop Thurston Moses at home, one daughter Donna Nixon and her husband Vernon, of Hampton, N.B. Two sisters; Mrs. Ellen Harvey of Grand Harbour, Mrs. Fay Lucas of North Head, N.B. One brother, Herman Brown of North Head, N.B. Also two grandsons; Norman Nixon and his wife Leah of St. Stephen, N.B., and Peter Nixon and his wife Krista of Hatfields Point, N.B., also four great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
  Mrs. Moses was predeceased by one sister Clara Worthen, as well as by three brothers; Floyd, Everett, and Lowell Jr. Brown. The family will be receiving friends at Ells Funeral Home,Grand Harbour, Thursday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. and on Friday Mrs. Moses will be transferred to the North Head Wesleyan Church, NorthHead, with visiting 11-12 noon. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 14th, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Campbell officiating. Interment to follow in the family plot North Head Cemetery, North Head, N.B. In lieu of flowers the family requests that all donations be made to the North Head Wesleyan Church Building Fund.   The following was published in the Novemer 21, 1997 St. John Telegraph Journal:
  On November 14,1997 tribute was paid to the life of Doris Moses at the North Head, Grand Manan, Wesleyan Church. The service began with a moment of silent meditation during the organ prelude, " The Lord Is My Shepherd", played by Rhonda Stanley. Grandson, Peter Nixon, read the poem, " A Beautiful Smile", which had been found in Doris's Bible.
  A very appropriate eulogy was given by Donna's co-worker and close friend, Leta Underhill. She also read comforting scriptural passages selected by Alice Harvey, Doris's niece, living in Ontario. Leta closed by leading the congregation in the recitation of Psalm 23.
  Prayer and devotion were given by Reverend Gary Campbell. This was followed by Sheila Wilson, a niece, singing one of her aunt's favourite songs, " This Is What Heaven Means To Me". Andrea Morse, also a niece, rendered closing prayer and farewell to her aunt.
  Bearers were: grandson, Norman Nixon; nephews, Arthur, Blair, Dana and Dwain Brown; and close friend, Lester Neves.
  Following the grave side committal friends and family gathered at the Moses' residence sharing conversation and refreshments.

  The family of the late Doris Moses would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dapena and staff at the Grand Manan Hospital for the excellent care and kindness shown to Doris as well as her family. Special thanks to our many friends and relatives for phone calls, visits, food and memorial donations: especially for the prayer support at this difficult time.
