a. Note:   The following is a copy of the obituary which could possibly have been published in the St. John Telegraph Journal.
  Mrs. William Worthen GRAND MANAN - Funeral services for Addie L. Worthen, widow of William Sidney Worthen were held from Church of the Ascension at North Head with Rev. Milton Dorman officiating.
  Pallbearers were Craig Cheney, Everett Lahey, Addison Naves and Herbert MacAulay.
  Internment was in the North Head Cemetery.
  Mrs. Worthen's death occurred at the Grand Manan Hospital. She was 96.
  She was a member of the Church of the Ascension and had been active in community and church affairs until recently.
  She is survived by four sons, Earl, North Head; Joseph, Halifax; Douglas, Manchester, Mass. and Lloyd Miller, North Head; one brother Ashton Stanley, North Head; one sister. Lillian Rogers. Provincetown Mass; six grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

  Addie L. Worthen, widow of William Sidney Worthen, passed away at Grand Manan Hospital November 10, 1973, following a short illness.
  She had been active until her final illness, doing her own housework, continuing her hobbies of sewing quilts and hooking rugs, took a keen interest in community activities and attended church services regularly.
  She was a member of the Church of the Ascension at North Head from where the funeral service was held, with Rev. Milton Dorman officiating.
  Survivors include four sons, Earl of North Head, Joseph of Halifax, Douglas of Manchester, Mass and Lloyd Miller of North Head; six grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; one brother, Ashton Stanley of North Head; one sister, Lillian Rodgers of Provincetown, Mass; and several nieces and nephews.
  The following Card of Thanks appeared in the December 14, 1973 issue of the Quoddy Tides Paper:
  "The family of the late Addie L. Worthen wish to thank all those who helped in any way during our recent bereavement. Many thanks for the beautiful flowers, cards, donations to the Heart Fund, Gideon Bibles and Church restoration fund, for home cooking, loan of cars and all other expressions of sympathy. Special thanks to Rev. Milton Dorman, Dr. Dapena and nurses and staff at Grand Manan Hospital."
