"Mrs William Hawes age 91. Funeral service for Mrs. William Hawes age 91 years was held at home in Spry Bay with Rev. Mr. Parson officiating, internment St. Andrew's Anglican Cemetery. Mrs Hawes died in Sheet Harbour Hospital. She was a patient for the last two months. Born in Necum Teuch her parents were the late John and Margaret Smith. She is survived by two daughters Eileen, Mrs Leo Bollong Spry Bay with whom she resided. Dorothy, Mrs Verdun Johnson, New Glasgow NS. 5 grandchildren and 3 greatgrand children. Her husband died 39 years ago".
