Obit December 1951 Elizabeth Daily Journal Charles Matthews, 76 years old of 19 Madison Avenue Avenel, died today in Perth Amboy General Hospital where he had been a patient for a day. A native of England, he had lived here a number of years. He was retired. The husband of the late Mrs. Alice Adey Matthews. Mr. Matthews is survived by a daughter, Mrs Joseph Murphy, Linden and four sons, Raymond of Elizabeth; Wesley of Plainfield: Thomas of Seattle, Washington and Arthur of Avenel.The funeral will be from the Haines Funeral Home, Newark Ave., Elizabeth, NJ.
