Elizabeth Daily Journal July 1971 Arthur A. Matthews, GAF Production Aide Avenel-Arthur A. Matthews, 57 of 19 Madison Avenue died Thursday at Rahway Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Josephine Markano Matthews. Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Matthews lived in Avenel for 20 years. He was the head selecter for the GAF Company, Linden. Mr. Matthews was a communicant of St. Andrews R.C. Church. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Catherine Murphy of Linden and a brother, Wesley of Plainfield.
