John (Bethel) Kent was the father of Elizabeth Kent born 1794 in Uni
on Co SC. Supposedly her mother is a Marion but we have never been ab
le to prove it. A Jerome Miller Junior signed security of a Kent proba
te in 1802,
Daniel Reynolds (his mark), signed security on another Kent probate in 182
6. Miller, Reynolds (sp Rennalds), Cole,and Whitlock were all adjacent fa
milies in Union Co SC. They might have been from NC and moved on to plac
es like TN, AL and ARK. Does anyone have a good understanding of the Reyn
olds family group in Union Co SC so that they can shed light on the Reynol
ds/Runnels there from whom Dudley Runnels Whitlock descended?

ed in SC. I wonder if the connection from Elizabeth Kent Whitlock to Mari

through the Moore family? Esther Moore was the mother of the first wi
fe to Samuel Dwight. He was related to General Marion and it was his ki
n, Francis Dwight who became the adopted son of General Francis Mario
n. I seem to remember that Esther Moore's husband was an officer who serv
ed under Marion but it is hard to keep all this in my head so I am aski
ng for help if anyone can give it.
