  Jennie Holder's death certificate. She di
 ed March 02, 1934 in Hermann (?) Hospital in Houston, Harris Co., TX. cau
 se of death was "generalized peritonitis." The doctor had attended her fr
 om February 28 to March 02, although the onset of her illness was dated Fe
 b. 25th ("acute salpingst???")
  The informant on her death certificate was her spouse, B.F. Holder. The
 ir residence at that time was 1236 West 26th, Houston. Her birth da
 te is given as May 31, 1897 (although her sister, Eva, listed her birth da
 te as May 30 in her diary). She was a housewife, born in Georgia. Fath
 er was N.E.W. Stokely, who was born in Tennessee; mother was Ella Naomi Br
 own, born in Georgia. Jennie was buried in Forest Park Cemetery in Hous
 ton, where her husband was also buried years later.
  From diary of Eva Stokely regarding Jennie Stokely Holder:
  9-18-31 "Letter from Jennie telling of Frank being a hero and getting writ
 ten up in the Houston papers for pulling child from a burning car."
  7-12-33 "Jennie writes Frankie has rheumatic heart condition."
  2-28-34 "About ten A.M. got wire from Frank, saying Jenny near death, acu
 te appendicitis. Left at noon and drove 17 hours to Houston. Sorry I hadn
 't been sooner."
  3-1-34 "Found J in bad condition. She was glad to see me and talked the sw
 eetest I ever heard anyone anytime in my life."
  3-2-34 "Jennie decidedly worse & delirious. Realized it couldn't be lon
 g. She knew me up until shortly before she passed away."
  3-3-34 "Jennie's funeral @@ 4 pm at Fagle-West Chapel. Dr. Hodges spoke a
 nd Mrs. H sang "Abide With Me' - casket and robe pink - lovely flowers.
  Vicki Jones: Since my mother Dorothy Jones was only 8 years old when h
 er mother died, she had few memories to share. I mostly recall being to
 ld that Jennie played the piano, and to help pay for dancing lessons f
 or my mother, she played the piano for a local dance school.
