Hi Roy.
I haven't had an answer to my second letter. You said you'd been sick I hope you are getting better.
As you can see I have a computer now and am on line.
Since we last communicated I have found some additional information. I found my fathers birth certificate. Lawrence Theodore Eastes was born in Fairmont Grant, County, Indiana Oct. 6, 1900. His father is listed as Marshall H. Eastes. In a codicil to my father's will he states his father was Marshall Holman Eastes and that he died in Remington Indiana in 1911 and is buried in Remington Cemetery.
My father's first wife was Olive Hearn. They were married in 1918 and Divorced in Detroit Michigan on January 31, 1925. He married his second wife Agnes Irene Small Nov. 14, 1928 in Ohio and divorced (In Mexico) on May 11, 1957. He married my mother Martha Nellie Ursula Milner on Aug. 3 1957 in Carson City Nevada.
My father's death certificate still lists Marshall Eastes as Marshall T. Eastes. And I found it that way on some of his marriage records too. I found another son to Marshall Eastes and Ella McKillip born July 29, 1898 in Madison County, Indiana. The last name was listed as Easter. But my grandfather's first name Marshall was listed as father and McKillip was listed as the mother. I think he was stillborn since no first name is listed for the Male child and I didn't know him. My mother said that one of my father's brothers died in his teens of diphtheria but he would have had a name.
I'm still working on my father's half-brothers William Walter and Frank but I found their mother Elizabeth J. Unknown b. 1856 in Indiana. My grandfather also had a marriage to Candance See m. Nov. 3 1883 And Ida Wheeler m. January 11 1890. Then my grandmother Ella Virginia McKillip b. Aug. 11 1874 Union County, Indiana m. Jan. 11, 1894 Listed Mershal Eastes to Ella McKillip and Marshall Easten to Ella McKillip. White County, Indiana.
I found Aunt Elva's first husband Elva Ethel Eastes to Silas M. Taylor Aug. 12 1919 in Jasper County, Indiana.

You apparently didn't get my last letter I sent you in the regular mail. In it I made corrections to my line that got turned around in your data.
My mother(Sue or Ursula) Martha Nellie Ursula Milner was my father's third wife. They married on Aug. 3, 1957 in Carson City Nevada. My father's second wife Agnes Irene Small he married on Nov. 14, 1928 in Ohio. They divorced in Mexico on May 11, 1957. He married his first wife Olive Hearn about 1918. They were divorced on January 31 1928 in Detroit Michigan.
My siblings are as follows:
Dorothea Eastes - (Mother Olive Hearn) b. Aug. 19, 1919 In Michigan. d. June 1981 in Michigan.
Lenin Eastes (Leni)- (Mother Agnes Irene Small) b. July 25, 1932. d. April 11, 1995 in Santa Monica CA.
Jerome Rivera Eastes (Jerry) -(Mother Agnes Irene Small) b. March 21, 1936. d. 1989 in Texas.
Jacqueline Kay Eastes (Jackie)-(Mother Agnes Irene Small) b. July 29. 1938.
Joy Susan Eastes- (Mother Ursula Eastes) b March 20, 1958.

Marshall T. Eastes in a marriage to Candance See Nov. 3, 1883 in Grant County, Indiana book 7 page 244. Indiana marriages 1845-1920.
Marshall Eastes in a marriage to Ida Wheeler Jan. 11, 1890. Grant County, Indiana. book 9 page 33. Indiana marriages 1845-1920.
In the 1880 Census Washington Township, Grant County, Indiana Page 152 he is with an Elizabeth J.
In Lafayette, Indiana Directories 1885-88, 1891. Marshall T. Eastes is listed as a barber at Aetna House 1887-1888.
In codicil to my fathers will dated December 8, 1964. My father states "To identify myself as being the person who wrote this type written codicil, I state that my Father's name was Marshall Holman Eastes and My Mother's name was Ella Virginia McKillip. My father passed away at Remington Indiana in the year 1911 and was buried at Remington Cemetary. My mother passed a way in General Hospital Los Angeles in May in May 1958 while I was on a trip to Winipeg Canada, where my daughter Joy was born March 20th."
Then he signs it. Lawrence T. Eastes. The errors in the text were his too.
My father's birth Certificate filed Nov. 3, 1900 book 2 page 7 of Grant County Health Department Marion, Indiana. States Lawrence T. Eastes Was born in Fairmont, Indiana Oct. 6, 1900 Child of Marshall H. Eastes and Ella Virginia McKillip. both parents born in Indiana.
I always new my father had half-brothers. I knew there names were Frank, Walter, and William. I knew that my father had a niece by his brother Frank by the name of Delia. I didn't have documentation. But that picture you sent me, the one you got from my uncle "Pete" of the four generations with Ruth Webb, Marshall Eastes, William Eastes and Ellen Eastes shows one of these brothers. Also my Uncle had to be wrong about the date that the picture was taken. If it was taken in 1908 as he said, Ruth Webb would have been dead. She died in 1901 so I date it maybe 1900.
By the way, my father married Agnes his second wife as Estes and my sister Jackie's birth certificate says Estes but he married my mother and Olive as Eastes. He couldn't make up his mind.

Hi!
There aren't too many errors in the data you sent me. In fact you know things I didn't.
First, my oldest brother is Lenin or Leni my father was into communism and named his sons after prominent communist figures ( He later became a die-hard democrat). My brother hated it and went by Leni. He may have changed his name legally but I don't know if that is true. I gave you the wrong spelling in my first letter because I didn't know until after I spoke to my sister.
Second, I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Third, My daughter, Sherry, isn't yet married to her fianc� but they live as husband and wife in Marino Valley California. And expect to marry next June.
Forth, I didn't see any mention of Elizabeth J. but Marshall Eastes is apparently married to her according to the 1880 census.
I didn't know any of my aunts or uncles were born outside of Indiana. Uncle Pete would have been two at the time of his father's death in Indiana. My father always told me he was 10 when his father died. I do remember my father telling me that they lived in Kansas City, but I thought it was after Marshall's death. It was hard on my grandmother. She took in wash. My aunts had to quit school to help her with the washing and ironing. My aunts later used those old flat irons as doorstops.
I have many different spellings for my grandfather.

I don't see how we can be expected to be accurate when clearly the record takers are not. And we may not be able to trust the memory of either my uncle or my father. We'll just have to do the best we can and record things every way we find them.

It's me again I forgot to tell you my brother Lawrence William Eastes was born in Santa Monica California April 20 1961. He is younger than me. In your data he is listed first. He's not married and lives with my mother in Pomona.
