Notes
a. Note:   1840 Pickens Co., AL Census with husband William Easterwood. "The Easterwoods" Page 25; DOB confirmed Page 54; DOD confirmed page 103 due to tornado. 11/3/00 Margaret Mitchell records ... dob 10 September 1824 in GA. 11/3/00 Margaret Mitchell records...Newt brought his family of four little boys to TX in a covered wagon after the death of his wife Jenny. They lived in a house close by their grandmother, Margaret Wright. When she was a great grandmother, she was still caring for children. At the time of her death, she was living in new adobe home, caring for several grandchildren. A tornado or storm came up one night. The walls caved in on Margaret's bed, and a bed slat was driven through her body, killing her. One of the little girls sleeping at the foot of her bed was not harmed. Margaret was laid to rest in Merkel, Taylor Co, TX and her headstone says: Born September 10, 1819, Died September 13, 1887, thus honoring her wish to be five years older than she actually was.
