She may have been daughter of Leroy and Rebecca Burk. It is said they (Prior and Rachel) married 11 May 1839 even tho that would make both of them about 16. They lived 1840 Greene Co, Mo (no kids) and 1850 Columbia Co, Ark near his father (Archelaus Smith). "Lived 1840 (newly married, lived near his father) Greene Co, MO, and in 1850 again lived near his father Union Co, AR (all from Darline Smith). By birthdate of first of 3 children, shows they left Missouri ca 1843 for GA but by 1845-1846 were in AR. Where was Prior and Rachel in 1860? 1/17/03 E-message from Joyce (Woodruff) Terrana (SALTERR@aol.com) provides " Have Hugh's death cert showing parents P. A. Smith and R. J. Burk.....I come from Jeff D. (my maternal grandfather)...and our family always said Jeff's parents were Prior Anderson Smith and wife Rachel J. (maiden name unknown until recently when we learned it was Burk). Both Hugh and Jeff lived after 1885 in northeast Texas. Hugh in Hopkins Co, Tx by 1877, later Rockwall Co, Tx; Jeff in Hunt Co by 1885, short time in Rockwall Co, and later in Fannin. Have pics of both Hugh and Jeff (in their 40s) and their families. It is believed their father Prior A. Smith died in Hopkins Co, Tx after 1880, but not positive .." 12/5/04 - Gordon Co, GA 1860 Census, Coosawattee census record for Pryor Smith b. 1824 TN, and wife Sarah A -- , b. 1830 - appears to be another person
