Eastham Born: Oct. 1, 1912; in Chicago Died: Nov. 3, 2008; in Harvard MARENGO - Irene V. Eastham, 96, of Marengo, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at Mercy Harvard Care Center. She was born Oct. 1, 1912, in Chicago, to Vytautas and Agota (Mikalauskas) Dowidaitis. She married Albert Eastham, and he preceded her in death July 8, 1979. She received her GED in 1980 and almost attained her associate degree after attending Kishwaukee and Harper community colleges. She was a member of a Bible circle at Prince of Peace Church in Schaumburg. She enjoyed swimming, traveling and playing cards. She also volunteered at the Senior Center in Schaumburg, helping seniors with their taxes. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Paul) Kruger of Hoffman Estates and Marilyn (Stan) Ahrens of Marengo; a son, David (Kathi) Eastham of Miami, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two grandchildren. The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Zion Lutheran Church, 408 Jackson St., Marengo. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at the church. The Rev. Glen Borhart will officiate. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
