 W. E. Coffin, prominent Jennings citizen, died suddenly Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Coffin were attending prayer meeting at the Methodist church. During the song service, Mr. Coffin fell forward, death occuring instantly. For years Mr. Coffin in partnership with his brother in law, F. R. Jaenke, conducted one of the largest feed and implement stores in this section, for the past few years he has been in the harness making and repairing business. He has been in poor health for the past year or so, but death was entirely unexpected. Of splendid Christian character, faithful in church and community work, and a leader in religious circles, Mr. Coffin was beloved by all who knew him, and will be missed by a host of friends who are deeply grieved at his passing away. He is survived by a wife, two daughters, Miss Blanche Coffin of Sulphur, Louisiana and Mr. George Brower, of this city and a son, Glen Coffin of Philadelphia, PA and two sisters Mrs. Frank Jaenke and Miss Maude Coffin of this city. Funeral services were conducted from the First Methodist church this afternoon.
