a. Note:   #538 A wagon maker & house builder. Settled in New Fane, VT & joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints June 12, 1842 and went west.

Note:   In 1846 they & others in LDS were compelled to seek a home in the west to worship to their own conscience. Made temporary home in Plattsmouth, NE where James died. Their 3rd son went with pioneers to the Rocky Mountains in 1847. He returned the next year & took his mother & sister, Sylvia, by ox team to Salt Lake City, UT and arrived on September 23, 1848 residing for a few years. Then moved to Lehigh, Utah cty, UT where she lived with her daughter & later moved to Franklin, ID.
